Michele Hale, Editor & Publisher

Michele is an independent author and the founder of Cowgirlie Publishing.  She has been featured in
Austin Woman Magazine, Curve Magazine and Girlfriends Magazine and her books have won rave reviews
from critics.  She stumbled into derby doing research for a book and the rest is history. Though she is not
yet skating for a league, she is currently preparing to make her roller derby debut in 2009 as Zombie
Dearest. You can find out more about Michele at her website,
www.michelehale.com.

work has been featured in the Austin Chronicle (where she is also a member of their design team) and
the Daily Texan.  She graduated from the University of Texas, where she completed the
photojournalism program.  She also plays a mean cello.  To find out more about Shelley, check out her

La Muerta, Zen Mistress

The original Queen of the Putas, La Muerta is the founder, 2001-2002 Captain and now manager of the
2006 Calvello Cup Champions, Putas del Fuego.  She was instrumental in the modern roller derby revival
by co-founding Bad Girl Good Woman Productions and served on TXRD's board of directors until recently
stepping down.  Muerta has spent more than four years in a leadership/prodcuer role in TXRD and has
been gracious enough to offer up some of her derby wisdom in her column,
Muerta's Musings.
Sinner G

Sinner skated for the Houston Area Roller Derby's Broads on Quads last year and is currently
living in Corpus Christi.  She is the former president of the Savannah Derby Devils.  Sinner's quick
wit and sarcastic sensibility can be heard, rather read, in
Sinner's Confessions.
Evilynn Carnit

She may be one of the smallest skaters in the TXRD, but she is definitely one of the meanest.  Cross
her and you'll find out just how she got that name.  She skates for the Cherry Bombs as a blocker and
sometimes jammer.  Evilynn serves on TXRD's training team, where she helps whip rookies into
shape.  Off the track, she's one of our ace reporters.  She graduated from the University of Nebraska at
Omaha with a degree in journalism.
Mz. Behavin'

Mz. Behavin' skates for TXRD's 2007 Calvello Cup Champions, the undefeated Holy Rollers.  She grew
up in the suburbs of H-Town. Being one of four sisters, she was quite skilled in catfights, and got into
them often.  Mz. B' is another one of our ace reporters, check out her debut article in issue #2 on the
late, great Ann Calvello.
Ginjure Scraps

Ginjure is one of the most congenial members of the TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls. But, when she
straps on her skates and gets onto the track with her fellow Cherry Bombs, she's as fierce as
they come. Try to get past her or lay a finger on her jammer and she'll make sure your face gets
well-acquainted with the track.  She was recently co-captain of the season opening All Scar
Army that beat the undefeated Holy Rollers of last season.
Varuca Assualt

Varuca skates for the TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls' Cherry Bombs, where she is one of the most feared
players in the league; she was voted 'Most Feared' in her league in 2007.  She is also a regular on the
still-undefeated All Scar Army.  She's been in the league since they went banked and knows her way
around the business side of things.  She's our official product tester and may even pop up with an
article or two.
Miss Amerikill

She might wear a crown and fancy dresses, but when she aims, she shoots to kill. Cross her and find
out quick why she was given the nickname and her current number "AK47". She skates for the
TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls in Austin, Texas where she proudly serves as a blocker for the Hellcats!
She also started and currently serves as TXRD's Street Team coordinator.
